South Dodgeball Cup Recap

The 2026 South Dodgeball Cup saw a rematch of the 2025 Cup in the title game between the Northern Kentucky Norse and the North Georgia Nighthawks. In an overtime thriller, Northern Kentucky prevailed 4-3 to repeat as South champions. Here’s how each team performed.

South Dodgeball Cup Preview

The South Dodgeball Cup is approaching with 4 teams in attendance (Bama, UNG, GSU, NKU). This year, Northern Kentucky seek to defend the title, North Georgia look for a rematch of last year’s title game, and Alabama and Georgia Southern look to shake up expectations.

South Midseason Recap

We’re halfway into the 2026 NCDA season, and the South region has gone from one of the smallest, most sparse regions in the association to the fastest-growing. #11 Northern Kentucky continues their steady improvement and #14 North Georgia is playing the best dodgeball they ever have. Lower down in the deep south, #22 Alabama begins their debut season strong with 12 points scored and #25 Georgia Southern looks to complement their shortened roster to maximize their potential.

Not only are the teams in the South improving rapidly, but many prospective teams in the South look to enter the league this spring or next fall. As such, this year’s South Cup will be the most interesting yet. Here’s a recap of each team’s fall semester.

Crimson Chaos I Recap

Sunday, November 16 saw a complete meeting of the Southern region in Tuscaloosa, Alabama for the first edition of Crimson Chaos. With all 4 teams leaving a unique impression on the rest of the region, Crimson Chaos saw the beginning of a dodgeball boom in the South. Here’s a quick recap of each team’s performance.

North Georgia, Alabama, and Georgia Southern met for the first time this season in September, but Northern Kentucky enters the mix now. Saturday, September 27 kicked off dodgeball in the southern region in a historic matchup between Georgia’s two schools. This year, however, the NCDA welcomed the University of Alabama (Bama) into the league as the Crimson Tide faced Georgia Southern University (GSU) and the University of North Georgia (UNG). Mardi Gras Madness Recap

The following was written by North Georgia’s Kyle Dattelbaum:

This past Saturday, the University of North Georgia and Georgia Southern University took long voyages to Northwestern State University of Louisiana for NSULA’s Mardi Gras Madness Tournament. In result, the league found some answers about the unknown South Region of the NCDA. Five matches were played between the three squads validating each school to become eligible to compete at Nationals come April. The day began with in-state rivals UNG and GSU going head-to-head, and concluded with NSULA playing two matches against the traveling teams each.
