At the Viking Cup, several teams went head to head for some quality matches to prepare for nationals. Several of the games were close and tested teams’ ability to fight and go for the win. Below are the scores for the day and captain’s thoughts on the teams in attendance.

On February 22, 2020, we have a great mix of teams attending the Viking Cup that should make for some fun matches. There are two teams from the Michigan and Midway regions, and one each from the South and Ohio regions. The teams in attendance will be: Cleveland State University (CSU), Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU), Western Michigan University (WMU), Ball State University (BSU), University of Kentucky (UK), and the University of Wisconsin Platteville (UWP). The NCDA offered an internship last year and was able to develop a startup guide for new and current teams (Startup Guide). As part of the completing the internship and meeting our expectations, the NCDA was able to offer a scholarship to that intern for their work.

This Saturday, November 16, 2019, the teams of the Midway Conference go head to head in what should be a classic. The teams in attendance will be the University of Wisconsin Platteville (UWP), University Nebraska Lincoln (UNL), Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE), and DePaul University. This is the first time that all these teams will be in the same building, which is a great thing to see for this conference. It is going to be a fun day and it all starts at 8:30a.m. with SIUE vs UWP. Let’s take a look at the schedule and what some of the leaders think going into the tournament.

This Saturday, Grand Valley State University will host the Gauntlet tournament at the GVSU Fieldhouse. In attendance will be Michigan State and Wisconsin Platteville, along with the hometown Lakers. Below is the schedule for the day (with GVSU B and GVSU Alumni also getting in on the action):
Last Saturday, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville (UWP) went head to head in a double header with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). Both games were highly competitive and both sides showcased their talent. In the end, Platteville was able to take the wins in both matches. The scores were UWP def UNL 3-2 and UWP def UNL 4-2. Last Saturday, August 10, the Platteville Dodgeball Club hosted the first annual Tim Ebert Memorial Dodgeball tournament. In total, there were eight teams that competed in the round robin tournament followed by an elimination bracket.

Continue reading “Zanderthon Throw-Down Recap 4”This Saturday, February 23, 2019, marks one of the most coveted tournaments of the semester. No, it is not the Ohio Dodgeball Cup or the Beast, it is the annual Zanderthon Throw-Down, the fourth of its kind. It will be played at the Williams Fieldhouse ( 350 Jay St Platteville, Wisconsin 53818).
The teams in attendance will be your two favorites from the Midway Conference: University of Wisconsin Platteville (UWP) and DePaul. The other team in attendance and making the long trip up to the great state of Wisconsin is Northwestern State University of Louisiana (NSULA). This will be the first team outside the Midway to play in a tournament hosted by Platteville and we are excited to have them.
Also, UWP has an alumni team playing, but as we have said before they are washed up and no one is scared of them, especially Matt Bautch (very weak arm)! Let’s take a look at the schedule for the day:
