Penn State played in their first ever National Tournament, where they also played their first ever games. They showed tremendous growth from game one to four as well.

Sam Hiller [MSU-C-87] [NCDA Chief of Content]
The April Baller of the Month is one of the more specialized awards out of the year. Because we choose the BOTM in the middle of the month, it usually falls after Nationals, and thus there is usually a great story behind it.

A Year in Review: University of Maryland Terrapins
The University of Maryland Terrapins finished their sophomore campaign in the NCDA with a 4-5 record. Their first matches of the year were at the Towson Throwdown, taking down host Towson 6-0 and losing to James Madison 5-2. Season Recap: Central Michigan Chippewas
Despite playing with less than a full 15 men most of the season, CMU was able to go 6-9 with some solid wins.
A Year in Review: VCU
Before VCU began their first season in the NCDA, VCU played their first ever match against JMU in the spring of 2012. The Rams played 10 v. 15 losing to the Dukes with an unrecorded score. After taking the summer off, VCU got ready for their big entrance into the NCDA.

Kent State went 26-8 on the season, and earned the #1 seed at Nationals 2013 before losing to MSU in the Semifinals.

One of the Greats
One thing I tell everyone about the NCDA, is how amazing every individual is that has anything to do with this league. These men and women are sincere, loyal, genuine human beings who love the game of dodgeball. But those are not the people I want to talk about. There is more to the game than just the competition. It’s a dedication and passion that few have and even fewer are willing to give. The man I want to talk about possesses these characteristics for this game in a way that outstretches anyone I know.
