Last Saturday, February 23, 2019, these teams competed and battled it out at the Zanderthon Throw-Down: Northwestern State University of Louisiana (NSULA), University of Wisconsin Platteville (UWP), DePaul University, and the Alumni. The games went as expected and I think it is safe to say that everyone had a great time! We made new friends and introduced a lot of newcomers to the sport. Zanderthon Throw-Down
This Saturday, February 23, 2019, marks one of the most coveted tournaments of the semester. No, it is not the Ohio Dodgeball Cup or the Beast, it is the annual Zanderthon Throw-Down, the fourth of its kind. It will be played at the Williams Fieldhouse ( 350 Jay St Platteville, Wisconsin 53818).
The teams in attendance will be your two favorites from the Midway Conference: University of Wisconsin Platteville (UWP) and DePaul. The other team in attendance and making the long trip up to the great state of Wisconsin is Northwestern State University of Louisiana (NSULA). This will be the first team outside the Midway to play in a tournament hosted by Platteville and we are excited to have them.
Also, UWP has an alumni team playing, but as we have said before they are washed up and no one is scared of them, especially Matt Bautch (very weak arm)! Let’s take a look at the schedule for the day:

In result, the league found some answers about the unknown South Region of the NCDA. Five matches were played between the three squads validating each school to become eligible to compete at Nationals come April. The day began with in-state rivals UNG and GSU going head-to-head, and concluded with NSULA playing two matches against the traveling teams each. Below will be my takeaways along with captain’s opinions on how their squads performed: Continue reading “Mardi Gras Madness Recap”
Director of League Expansion and Retention: Winter Update
The first half of the 2016-17 season is complete. We started the season with 23 active teams in the NCDA and now have 29 with plenty more waiting to get some action in the second half of the season. A total of 119 games were played last semester. That set a new record for the amount of matches played in the first half of the season. One can only predict that this record will continue to be broken for many years to come. This is thanks to the hard work of not just the Executive Board, but the active members of this league who have done an extraordinary job of getting the word out about this great sport. Below is an update on how the newly established member teams are doing this season and how close other prospective teams are to playing in the National Collegiate Dodgeball Association this season.
