A few weeks ago we lost a member of the NCDA Dodgeball family. Derrick Ammons was a member of Saginaw Valley State’s dodgeball team, and a great friend to many of their players. I never had the privilege of meeting Derrick, but many members of SVSU’s team knew him well. Here are a few brief comments by Saginaw Valley players remembering Derrick Ammons: Continue reading “Remembering Derrick Ammons”
Call for more Staff!
Good People, I’d like to ask a favor of you. If you have any developer skills, or are a graphic designer, or know of a fellow designer/developer, please let them know the League needs their help!
We are always looking for more hands to be part of our staff. There are plenty of avenues where one could help. Whether you are a current player looking for resume padding or an alumni looking to give back, we have a place for you.
At the moment, it is volunteer work. But it is real honest work that you can credit on your resumes and portfolios. This registered non-profit can write you official Letters of Recommendation and we also include you on the Staff page.
Please, especially if you are graphic designer or a programmer, please consider contacting ncdadodgeball@gmail.com with your resume. Great things arrive faster with talented and driven people working together.
BOTM: 2014 April
Kevin Bailey [GVSU-4-C]
In regards to Baller of the Month, this player’s name has been floated around multiple times per season. There were many instances where he would have received the reward, but another player qualified just a bit more. Our selection process isn’t very scientific; it’s just a way to showcase a player or a team in the League.
But age old tradition from the Raymer days dictates that April BOTM be the Nationals MVP and National Champion Team Captain. For these reasons, and many more over the course of the season, I’m proud to interview fellow staff member Kevin Bailey… he’s certainly earned it more than once. Continue reading “BOTM: 2014 April”

DePaul Lady Dodgeballers:
Hello Fellow Dodgeballers and Debaucher-ers!
DePaul lady dodgeballers here.
We’ve recently been made aware of a NCDA-related twitter account called “Dodgestitutes” with the description as follows, “Dodging balls and stalking players since 2013.” We are sure that some of you are already familiar with this account as it has been active for around a month now (we’re a little slow on the draw here, okay?). While this account claims to be all in good fun, unfortunately it is not fun for everyone who is associated with the account, whether they ask to be or not. It’s our personal impression that by labelling the ladies of the NCDA as groupies, stalkers, hoes, and most prominently prostitutes, this account belittles our impact and role as athletes and equal players in the NCDA.
