Nationals 2014 Pool Voting

In the following sections, Teams participating at Nationals 2014 may find six pool options on which they may vote.

This is a preferential voting system. Please rank the options in order of preference.

*Please do not submit one option, as this is not a winner-take-all system.

Please email your votes to the League email by 11:59pm Thurs, April 10th. One submission per team. *The vote must have eight Nationals Participants in order to be considered valid: that is a majority and therefore a Quorum of Member Teams. Continue reading “Nationals 2014 Pool Voting”

2014 All Star Selection!

Captains, please get your All Stars together. Please submit 4 players by April 1st.

Please choose 4 players that best represent your team. (I’d recommend having your club perform a preferential vote)

True All Stars are welcome, these are the male AND female dodgeballers that are the best representatives of your team, in whatever way you want to represent that (competitive, great attitude, leadership, trick shot master, etc).

The NCDA is a coed League: do not skip out on the Lady Dodgeballers just because they also have their own Ladies game. If they deserve it they would be in both games. In that same light, do not leave out a player because you don’t want them to get hurt, or too tired from an extra 30 minutes of play. This is not in the Spirit of the Game! This is fun! BOTM: 2014 March

Max Siler [SVSU-38]

Max Siler is in his second season as the captain for Saginaw Valley State.  Recently, Max led his team to undefeated records in the Michigan Dodgeball Cup, and DePaul University Invite.  SVSU currently boasts a 10-game win streak, thanks in large part to the efforts of their captain.  Over the past few years Max Siler has developed into a star player for SVSU, and he is a very deserving recipient of “Baller of the Month”. Custom Photographic Settings for Capturing Dodgeball Magic

The following is a little writeup/tutorial from Nicki Bailey [CMU #5] detailing some fancy photo settings that should help you get the most out of your dodgeball pictures. Just like the variety of our sport, the best settings will also be complemented to adjustments based on available lighting, your crazy speed of the dodgeballers you are photographing, and whether or not you need a flash. (personally, as an Official, I say no flash!) Take a read and try it out for yourself! Let us know how it works. Continue reading “Custom Photographic Settings for Capturing Dodgeball Magic”

Ultimate Dodgeball: Bourbon Ballers Victorious

What a night.

We shouldn’t have won. Really, we were dead in the water. But once again, my resilient group of misfits found a way to snatch victory from the small intestine of defeat.

The misfits in question are the Bourbon Ballers, an ultimate dodgeball team comprised of former and current WKU Dodgeball players. For those unfamiliar with ultimate dodgeball, it’s a 5 v 5 variation of our beloved sport played on a trampoline court. It is incredibly fun and completely exhausting.  Continue reading “Ultimate Dodgeball: Bourbon Ballers Victorious”

NCDA Alumni Podcast: February 2014

In the latest episode of the soon-to-be-renamed NCDA Alumni Podcast, the Aluminati discuss the Michigan Dodgeball Cup, Nationals 2014, and dodgeball outside the NCDA. Big questions are raised – Will Nationals ever get too big? Do the results of the MDC affect your view of the favorites heading into Nationals? – and everyone revels in the chance to make fun of McCarthy’s black eye.
