Each year, the Platteville Dodgeball Club puts on the Tim Ebert Memorial Scholarship Tournament. Tim Ebert was a player at the University of Wisconsin Platteville who was respected by his teammates as a captain and friend. Tim could always be counted on, always there to help, and was always making a difference and missed by all who knew him. The funds raised go towards the NCDA Internship program that allow the league to offer an internship.
Tim was a great teammate and friend to have who loved dodgeball! As a captain, he always wanted to help the new players get better and make sure they were having fun. I knew that if I ever asked Tim for help he would do what he could to help me. He was someone that loved to help others. Tim was a firefighter in his hometown as well as at Platteville, which just goes to show you what type of person he was. He just wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. That is why we thought it was fitting to make a scholarship in his name so that even though he is no longer here, he is still making a difference.
The NCDA believes in the development of our student-athletes’ education and from the funds raised this year, we are once again offering an internship. If you are interested in helping the league and receiving money to help pay for school, fill out the application and apply. Upon successful completion of the internship requirements and meeting our expectations, that individual will receive the scholarship in the amount $1,000.
