This Saturday, September 21st kicks off the start of the 2024-2025 NCDA season with the Eau Claire Dodgeball Brawl. The teams in attendance will be the University of Wisconsin-Stout (UWS), University of Wisconsin-Platteville (UWP), and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (UWEC). UWS and UWP will compete in an official match and Eau Claire’s games will be scrimmages. Let’s take a look at the schedule and a quick preview of the teams.
University of Wisconsin-Stout– UW-Stout is in their second season and they are excited to get at it once again! From last year’s squad, they only lost a few players so they have a good base to build on. A few players to watch out for are Zoe Olson and Angel Lucero, as they have been working hard and Coach Jacob is looking for them both to make it on the All-Central Region list. It will be fun to see the strides Stout has made and see them compete in the future!
University of Wisconsin-Platteville-UW-Platteville has been putting in work all summer getting ready for the new season playing in NDA tournaments and working hard on recruiting. This season they are looking to work on the fundamentals and find ways to win as they feel they have enough experience to make that happen. For Platteville, they lost some top players from last year and it is time for the veterans to step up and take it to the next level.
University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire-UW-Eau Claire is still trying out the league’s format and most playing tomorrow it will be their first time playing. It seems they are excited and eager to play and we are not sure what to expect out of them. We will find out this weekend what they can do! Hopefully, they have a great experience and will join the league in the future!
Final Thoughts-It is an exciting weekend as we are finally kicking off the season. The tournaments are filling up and it is a great problem to have.
