The 2024-2025 season comes to an end and it is time to recognize the individuals that put in the work to make it onto The Central All-Region team. The Central Region consists of the following teams: University of Nebraska Lincoln, University of Wisconsin Stout, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and the University of Wisconsin Platteville. This list consists of the top 12 players in the conference, voted on by their peers. A special thanks to the players that helped with this. Let’s take a look at the results and individuals below!

Charles Cardenas- University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign–Charles is a great leader and coach on the court. He leads his team with confidence and employs strategies that have proven successful against their opponents. He brings skill to the court with his throwing and catching abilities, along with a positive and competitive attitude.

Jalen Sims– University of Wisconsin Platteville– With a powerful arm and four years of experience, Jalen is a force to be reckoned with on court. His sharp court awareness enables him to make clutch catches or send a well-placed cross throw to slow down the opposing team. Jalen knows how to lock in, get the out, and continue to keep playing.

Konnor Del Mar- University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign–Konnor is a very confident player and dominates his side of the court. You will often see a cross from him, and he often hits his targets. Along with his throwing is his catching, frequently catching his teammates in and keeping his team alive.

Nicholas Stocks-University of Wisconsin Platteville–During his time at Platteville, Nick has seen the team grow both on and off the court. This is largely in part thanks to his kindness and his commitment to the team. As our captain, Nick always set the bar high whether it was our ability to play the game, or our knowledge on the court. Aside from his leadership, Nick is an outstanding player who led our team to victories with his explosiveness and ability to produce outs.

Dylan Fabry-University of Wisconsin Platteville–Dylan’s presence on the court is felt through his throws and pump fakes. His ability to run players down to get the out or give a well-timed pump fake has won Platteville games. Dylan’s communication on court leads to success as blockers are set up for throws and team throws are together and more accurate. Overall, Dylan’s passion for the game and dedication to his teammates makes him the great player he is.

Malaki Shriner-Horne–University of Nebraska Lincoln– Malaki is a standout leader for UNL, known for his precision and power on full-court crosses. His throwing ability makes him an essential asset in critical moments, especially at the close of a point. Not only is he a power arm, he also complements it with a great catching ability. He is definitely a player that you have to respect on the court.

Ehis Eromosele- University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign–Ehis loves to have fun on the court and knows when to take it seriously. He always shows great sportsmanship and never gives up. This is a big part of what makes it so much fun to play against him. He communicates well and applies pressure effectively to help his teammates get back. He is also a really good catcher that more likely than not he will secure the catch. As a coach, it has been fun going against him and seeing him challenge my players to be better.

Collin Clover–University of Nebraska Lincoln-Collin is our leader on the court. He knows how to keep everyone in line on the court and makes sure that we follow our game plan. Without him we would be lost. He also is another top catcher on our team and can come in clutch with some pretty amazing catches.

Samuel Lavender–University of Nebraska Lincoln-Sam is definitely one of the best catchers on the team by far. He has some of the most outrageous catches you’ll ever watch on dodgeball and it makes the entire court stunned from watching such a miraculous catch happen. He’s definitely someone that if we needed a turn around in a point, it would be him.

David Laux-University of Wisconsin Platteville–As a rookie, David is already an exceptional player with a great understanding of the game. With his experience in NDA before his time at Platteville, he was able to begin practice at a high level, allowing further progression at a much faster rate than others. David’s endurance and speed allow him to perform at a very high level whether its chasing down opponents, or swiftly moving to block for a teammate.

Eric Sullivan-University of Wisconsin Platteville–Eric has been a fantastic role model for his teammates as well as incoming players. His ability to create good relationships has allowed our team to relay good communication on the court, helping us to achieve wins. As one of our top players, Eric has contributed heavily to our team through his ability to hit opponents at the feet or where they cannot catch the ball. We are all looking forward to seeing his further progression as a player, and as a leader.

Deven Rea- University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign–Deven is incredibly fast of the opening rush and extremely athletic. Which he showed off all the time in his ability to jump over and dodge any ball thrown at him. This made him very effective at surviving when numbers were low and allowed his team more time to turn a point around. He does a great job to paying attention to the whole court, which allowed him to throw several crosses for outs and he did a great job communicating with his teammates on team throws. He is the type of strong player you always have to keep an eye out for.
