Compared to previous seasons, the Central region made leaps and bounds in terms of progress and growth. Not only did rookie team Iowa host their first official tournament, they also sent ambassadors to this years national tournament in Athens, OH, AND they hosted the first ever Central Region Cup. The number of teams currently in the Central region–six official and four prospective–makes them the second largest region in the league, right behind the Ohio region with eight teams.
We reach a breathing point of the season, so we can finally see what’s been accomplished thus far. Fun games and intense games go hand-in-hand with the growing women’s league as well as the brand new tournaments and rookie squads. The central region has done quite a bit of growing since last year. UNL still sits at the top with UIUC not far behind, UWS and UWP fight for their spots, and Iowa and UWEC dip their toes into the waters for their first official season.
November 22, 2025 was a big day for the UW-Stout and UW-Eau Claire dodgeball clubs. Stout won its first match in club history, followed it up with another, and successfully held its second home tournament. Eau Claire officially joined the NCDA after a few years of trial matches. Needless to say, the coaches and players on each team were thrilled to hold what may be the birth of a new rivalry as Eau Claire and Menominee are a mere 30-minutes apart.

Continue reading “Rosen Bowl II Recap”This tournament, being hosted on the 22nd of November, 2025, will be a double header between UW-Stout and UW-Eau Claire at UW-Stout (UWEC and UWS respectively). Both teams will have a relatively short reprise from the tournament setting as both teams attended the Pioneer Classic VI just two weeks prior but were unable to play each other. Below is the schedule for the day and a brief preview of each team.
November 8th, 2025, UW-Platteville (UWP) hosted the sixth iteration of their Pioneer Classic tournament. It was cold and raining, but it was still a great day for dodgeball. A squad from every central region team except Iowa made their way to Platteville, and UWP invited their Radio Club to commentate again to help reach a broader audience. On November 8th, 2025, UW-Platteville will be hosting one of their two home tournaments, the Pioneer Classic and it will be the sixth iteration. This tournament will be bigger than past years with University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL), University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) University of Wisconsin-Stout (UWS) and University of Eau Claire (UWEC) joining the alumni team. In addition to the NCDA games, there will be an official Women’s No-Sting game between UWP A and the UIUC women as well as an unofficial match between UWP B and a mixed team. Below is the schedule for the event followed by what can be expected.
September 20th was the day of tournaments across the league. In the Central Region, UW-Platteville (UWP) and UW-Stout (UWS) (and alumni) traveled to UW-Eau Claire (UWEC) for the second annual Eau Claire Brawl tournament. This was the first NCDA tournament of the season for all those who attended, and it allowed the teams’ newbies to test the waters of NCDA dodgeball. All photos included were taken by Richard Laux.

Illinois is quickly rising into contention, signaling a shift in power as fellow Big Ten program Nebraska-Lincoln comes down from its reign of dominance. With several prospective schools showing interest and momentum building across the board, the region is expanding at a rapid pace—rivaling even the South as the fastest-growing hotspot in the league.
