Cornhusker Clash Preview

Cornhusker Clash

It is another exciting week for dodgeball in the Midway Conference as this Saturday November 20, 2021 the Cornhusker Clash is back! The University of Wisconsin Platteville (UWP) will be going up against University of Nebraska- Lincoln (UNL) in another doubleheader. UWP will also take on a UNL B team in a scrimmage.

Below is the schedule for tomorrow’s event.

In back to back weeks, the Pioneers and Cornhuskers are going at it again. In the first two matches, UNL got the best of UWP. Both matches were close, intense, and highly competitive. I expect tomorrow’s doubleheader to be no different. Both teams picked up a lot of experience last week and brushed off some of the rust. They both know what they need to improve on as teams and we will see those adjustments tomorrow.

With this being a home tournament for UNL, they will have their best roster on the court, which should help give them an advantage. They are going to use the same strategy as before to help them play their game to dictate the pace of the game. For UWP this time around, Platteville will be bringing a less experienced roster than what they had at the Pioneer Classic. I don’t see this hurting their game plan, as most of the new players competed exceptionally well last weekend and feel more comfortable on the court. The Pioneers will look to get their throws lower to help them stay in points longer to help push for victory. To me, I think the results of these games this weekend will come down to which team can throw less catches and which team can catch more.

Either way, we are in for some great matches as both teams are going to pick up where they left off last week. What will the results be this time? Will UNL or UWP get both wins or will they spilt. We will find out tomorrow at the Cornhusker Clash. As always we will try our best to stream the games.
