Recruiting 101

With the semester arriving fast, I figured now would be the perfect time to go over some tips to help your team have your best recruiting class ever (or the best first recruiting class for the new teams!)

Step 1: Sign up for your school’s fall involvement fair!

The fall involvement fair is the most important day for every dodgeball club. The involvement fair is where your team will recruit most of the rookies that will help support and lead your club for the next 4 years. To help get the most in hopes that many will stick around and become important pieces of the club, I have a few tips that will help your teams recruiting.

With nationals just around the corner, we thought it would be a great time to highlight some matches we have not seen this season. The following are five matchups that many fans are hoping to see at Nationals. There have been plenty of fantastic ones this season with lots of out of region travel, but there are still more we would love to see.

WAR VI Recap

This past Saturday, 11 teams from 3 different regions made the drive to Akron, Ohio to compete in the largest tournament of the season outside of nationals. A lot of teams were able to play new opponents from different regions, allowing viewers to get a preview of how they will stack up with each other down the road in April. In this article, we will discuss whether each team’s stock is rising, falling, or just staying neutral.

Kentucky Invitational Recap

On October 23rd, four teams from three different regions made the trip to Lexington, Kentucky to compete in the Kentucky Invitational. The teams in attendance were Ohio University, Ohio State University, Saginaw Valley State University, and University of Kentucky. Every team played against the other three teams for some exciting cross-regional play.

Kentucky Invitational

This Sunday the University of Kentucky (UK) is putting on the Kentucky Invitational and will be hosting: Ohio State University (OSU), Ohio University (Ohio), and Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU). Three regions will be in action and it is great to see the cross regional play! For Kentucky, this will be their first action of the year and we are excited to see them and for hosting. The last time they hosted an event, it was nationals back in 2017. Let’s take a look at the schedule below and highlight the teams.
