GVSU vs. CMU: an “Instant Classic”

Grand Valley hosted their second tournament of the year this past weekend.  Arguably the most surprising result from this event was the game between GVSU and in-state opponent Central Michigan.  The final score was GVSU-2 CMU-1 in Overtime!

CMU Dodgeball Invite Recap

This past weekend, Central Michigan University’s dodgeball team hosted the first tournament of the 2014-15 college dodgeball season. (The Opening Match was last week at UK against WKU)  In attendance were six well established NCDA member teams: Grand Valley State, Central Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Western Kentucky, and Kentucky.

The competition was strong for a tournament so early in the season.  Here are my thoughts on what took place over the weekend at CMU.

2013 Battle of the Valleys

Grand Valley (9-0) defeats Saginaw Valley (5-3) 2-1 in Allendale for the 2013 Battle of the Valleys.

SV-JV also defeats GV-JV 2-1 for the 2013 Battle of the JV Valleys. [-zm]

Both varsity teams are next in action on Saturday for the RedHawk Invite, along with Kent State (6-2), Ohio State (2-0), Western Kentucky (0-0), James Madison (6-0), and Miami (0-3).

St Ambrose Analysis

This past weekend, three teams joined the league. One team hosted their own event: St. Ambrose hosted DePaul Dodgeball and Wisconsin Platteville in a Round Robin. Troy Dixon and I traveled to help Officiate the event. In this article, we perform an in depth analysis based on our on site observations.
