Summit Street Slugfest VII Preview

A new semester has come upon us, and with that, the NCDA will return to the corner of Ted Boyd Drive & Summit Street in beautiful Kent, Ohio for the first time since 2019. This tournament will be held on Sunday, January 28th, and will feature 10 teams spanning from East Lansing, Michigan, all the way down to Harrisonburg, Virginia, as well as 7/8 of the Ohio teams, and the Nittany Lions of Penn State. This tournament is putting some big names up against each other as we will see a total of EIGHT top-10 match-ups as this will certainly show who are the contenders versus the pretenders. Down below, we have the schedule, the links to each YouTube channel that will be streaming, and previews for all 10 teams attending.

Cavalier Clash Recap

The final East Coast tournament of the fall semester saw another matchup between Virginia, Maryland, and James Madison University. This event was business as usual if you only consider wins and losses, but a closer look reveals some interesting takeaways about how spring might look out east.

Happy Valley Throwdown Recap

2023-2024 East Region Preview

The East region has a brand new look this season. For the first time ever, Penn State is the top dog entering the year. It is surely championship or bust for the NCDA’s preseason #3 ranked team. Right behind them is the usual East region favorite in JMU, and a UMD squad looking to break into the group of title contenders for the first time. UVA rounds out the East working to make a name for themselves in one of the league’s most competitive regions.

Cavalier Classic Recap

The last East Coast tournament of the year took place last weekend on April 1st in Charlottesville, VA at the University of Virginia (UVA). A three game round-robin took place between UVA, James Madison (JMU), and Maryland (UMD). While this may not have been the largest tournament, each game had some interesting takeaways.

BEAST XI Results and Recap

This is the first BEAST tournament we’ve seen in years with numerous teams outside the East region, and needless to say, it did not disappoint. We saw upsets, blow-outs, young stars having break out performances, and a rowdy fan atmosphere few tournaments can match.
