MSU’s Jerseys Through the Decade

A look through the jerseys worn by the Spartans over the years.

2004-2007

The first jersey for the Spartans was green with white piping. They wore white shorts as well.

2007-2008

The Spartans wore white Under Armour shirts with green and white Under Armour shorts this year.

The jerseys were very simple, starting a trend for MSU jerseys.

2008-2009

Michigan State had two jerseys in 2008-2009: a black and a white alternate. This was the front of the black jersey. The greens are different color because of a licensing issue, this would be fixed in the next year’s jersey.

The jerseys were made by Patagonia, and the same shorts as the 2007-2008 season were used.

The jersey front was just the Spartan Helmet logo and a number.

The backs had the player names and numbers as well.

2009-2010

The 2009-2010 jerseys were made by Patagonia as well, but this time MSU went with just one jersey- a silver one. The jerseys still featured the Spartan Helmet logo, but also included the State script and “Dodgeball” underneath.

The jerseys fit more onto the front of the jerseys, and actually said “Dodgeball” on it, for the first time since the 2004-2007 jerseys.

2010-2012

The 2010-2012 jersey was done by Nike, who inked a deal with MSU Rec Sports to give deals to club teams. The jersey featured the primary logo for Michigan State Dodgeball, and was green and white.

The Spartans wore plain green shorts, giving them a look of solidarity in their all green.

The 2011 All-Stars (Ian Childs, Andy Malnor, Eric Paul, Sam Hiller, Alex Acton, and Kevin Miller) all received these All-Star jersey t-shirts. While just a plain grey t-shirt with a red outline of Michigan on the front and a random number on the back, the shirts were a cool touch for the few chosen.

The 2012 All-Stars (Andy Malnor, Andrew Koczara, Eric Paul, and Alex Acton) were given shirts with this design on it, however they were not used in game.

2012-2013

The new jersey for the 2012-2013 season is similar to the one used the past two seasons in that it is a green Nike jersey. However, the logo has been changed and the team has switched to black shorts with Spartan Helmets on them.

Beyond?

Founder of the team Aleks Bomis came up with a design that mirrors the 2011 Michigan State Football Team’s “Pro-Combat” jerseys. The design may be used in the future.
