COLIN O’BRIEN #18
-2nd Season with the Team
-From Oak Park, IL
-James Madison
Colin will be the first Sophomore Assistant Captain since Ian Childs in 2008-2009, but he’s earned the spot. He’s a great leader, and he backs it up on the court as one of the best Spartans on the team. He can catch, has a good throw with movement, and is quick.
ALEX STARBIRD #36
-2nd Season with the Team
-From North Branch, MI
-Mechanical Engineering
Alex made the Nationals 2013 roster where he came up with some huge plays in big games. That experience should help him develop into a solid player for MSU, as he’s becoming a solid catcher and crosser for State.
JAMES SCHNEIDER #25
-From Buffalo, NY
-Kinesiology
James is making his mark with the Spartans early as someone they can depend on. He’s got a decent throw that should get better, he can catch well, and is a good dodger. Watch for him to turn into a key player for MSU.
SAM CLARK #11
-2nd Season with the Team
-From Niles, MI
-Mechanical Engineering
Sam is one of the better catchers on the team, and his throw gets better every practice. He’s quickly becoming a good player for MSU, and should definitely get even better this season.
ZACH WEBBER #8
-2nd Season with the Team
-From Niles, MI
-Arts and Letters
Zach is a rare lefty in the league, and he’s incredibly hard to hit. If he can continue his growth as a player, he could have a tremendous impact for the Spartans.
