All Stars

2012-2013 DePaul Dodgeball All Stars

Name: Troy “Big Dix” Dixon (President)
Number: 25-C
Height: 6’0”
Hometown: Chicago, IL
Class: 2013
NCDA Experience: 4 years
Play Style: “Big Alabama Hamma’ Slamma’
Bio

Troy Dixon is the eldest of all players currently on roster for DePaul. Making his first
appearance at Nationals 2010 in Bowling Green, OH, he became a mainstay on the team over
the past four years and eventually one of its leaders. Beginning as nothing more than a catcher,
Troy began to develop one of the more accurate, stronger throws in the league. He describes
his approach to the game as a three prong attack (extreme athleticism, great defense, and strong
throwing). His play caught the eyes of his peers around the league last season as he was voted to
the inaugural All-American team last season. Looking to rebound off some of the success of last
season, Dixon will enter Nationals 2013 as a first time All-Star.

Name: Anthony “Pretzel Man” Netzel (Treasurer)
Number: 5-A
Height: 6’0”
Hometown: Orland Park, IL
Class: 2013
NCDA Experience: 3 years
Play Style: “Bang Bang”
Bio

Anthony Netzel joined the DePaul Dodgeball Society team as a freshman in 2009. However, it
wasn’t until the 2010-2011 season that he made his first appearance in NCDA action. Entering
his third and final Nationals, Anthony will look to regain form after being sidelined earlier in
the season due to surgery. He possesses a throw with high accuracy that complements the great
deal of speed and strength put behind it. A few words of advice: “Watch your ankles.” Known
primarily as one of the unquestioned leaders at DePaul on and off the court due to his passion for
the game and his teammates, Anthony has earned his first All-Star game bid in his final season
and Nationals for the team.

Name: Brian “House Party” Van Meter (Vice-President)
Number: 91-A
Height: 6’0”
Hometown: Batavia, IL
Class: 2014
NCDA Experience: 3 years
Play Style: “Skip-Skip-BOOM”
Bio

Brian Van Meter is undeniably one of the fastest rising stars in the entire NCDA at this point and
is looking to close out his third season with a bang. He began his NCDA career as a freshman in
2010 and remains as a focal point on the team. Wielding arguably one the stronger arms in recent
memory, he has become the player to watch on this DePaul team heading forward. If you’re
not paying attention when crossing Brian on the court, you’ll find yourself on the sidelines very
quickly. His strong arm matched with his aggressive, up-tempo style of play make him quite
an intimidating force to the opposition. He will be making his first appearance as an All-Star at
Nationals 2013.

Name: Mario “Mario Mario” Romanelli (Event Coordinator)
Number: 85-R
Height: 6’0”
Hometown: Long Island, NY
Class: 2014
NCDA Experience: 3 years
Play Style: “GOOD + power ups”
Bio

Mario Romanelli is an up and coming leader for DePaul Dodgeball. He made his first NCDA
appearance three years ago as a freshman in 2010. Vastly growing to become the most reliable
set of hands on the DePaul squad and some of the best in the entire league, Mario continues
to become an increasingly more difficult foe to face on the court. You add that with his ever
improving throw, and you may have probably one of the most dangerous players heading into
next season. Mario will enter his third Nationals this season as a first time All-Star.
