Supplemental Update

Captains, Presidents and Affiliates of the League,

This letter is to provide some additional information that has came to light since the last letter last month. This letter will deal primarily with the new format for the All-Star Match and seeking of Alumni Officials.

This year Nationals will have an All-Star Match with a unique selection process. The two teams will be drafted from the pool of All-Star’s consisting of 80 players. If 20 teams accept bids to Nationals each participating team will have 4 players in the All-Star Match. (If we have more or less teams it will be adjusted.) Team A will be captained by Felix Perrone (WKU Captain) and Dan Shackleford (Kent St.) with Team B captained by Sam Hiller (MSU Captain) and Zigmas Maloni (DePaul).

When all of the teams submit their roster for Nationals and submit their FOUR All-Star’s names please also submit a short player bio of the All-Stars similar to: “John Smith #13 is a third year player from the University of Alabama who has a power arm clocking in around 70 miles per hour.” Please also send a headshot or picture for the Captains drafting so that they can better place the name and face together.

Each team will have 40 players on their roster. The All-Star Game will have two halves of twenty minutes. There will be twenty players on the court at a time with twelve balls.

Transitioning to Alumni Refs…if your team has had any players graduate in the last few year and they would like to be a paid official please submit their contact information to myself so that I can contact them and discuss payment details. We may have up to eight games being played simultaneously so we will need a lot of officials!

I hope to hear from your school shortly confirming your entry to Nationals this year! If you have any questions feel free to email, call or text me.

Have a great day!
