This past weekend the NCDA held its National Tournament at the University of Kentucky. This was not only my first Nationals, but Towson’s first as well. As a second year team we had wanted to attend last year’s Nationals at Saginaw Valley, but we did not have the funding available to go. This past weekend was a spectacle in my mind that can only ever be imitated, but never duplicated. Continue reading
Grand Valley State won the 2013 National Title by beating Michigan State 3-0 in the title game. The Lakers had to knock off Bowling Green, James Madison, and Kentucky to get there, and they continued their stellar play by defeating the Spartans.

Possibly considered the “Pool of Death”, Pool D has four NCDA mainstays in #4 Saginaw Valley, #8 Ohio State, #11 Western Kentucky, and #16 DePaul. Continue reading
Pool C has two heavyweights, #3 James Madison and #6 Grand Valley, and two teams who have been around for a few years now in #12 Miami and #21 Northwestern State.
Pool B is represented well, with #2 Kentucky, #5 Michigan State, #13 Bowling Green, and newcomer Penn State.
Pool A features #1 Kent State, #8 Central Michigan, #10 Towson, #14 Wisconsin-Platteville, and the “Miscellaneous Team” that features players from Moody Bible, North Texas, and Louisville. Continue reading
